Valentines Day in ChattanoogaValentine's Day. The perfect reason to plan a getaway for you and your person. Where to stay and what to do in Chattanooga this Valentine's Day? We've got some ideas.
SUNSETS ON LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN
Five of our vacation rental homes are located on the western bluff of Lookout Mountain (links are below). Perfect for watching the sunset over the valley and perfect for a romantic night in. Two stellar restaurants are within ten minutes of all of these homes: Canyon Grill and Lookout Mountain Pizza Company. Order your dinner to go, pick up a bottle of wine (if that is what you fancy), and enjoy a romantic dinner while watching the sun go down. Oh, if you're out and about in Chattanooga before dinner, stop by The Hot Chocolatier to pick up some locally made chocolates.
Another romantic idea is soaking in your own personal hot tub under the stars. Whether you decide to stay in, spend the day in Chattanooga, or dine in one of Chattanooga's best restaurants, come home to your outdoor hot tub for a soak with your sweetheart.
ROMANTIC DINNERS OUT
Most of us think that Valentine's Day is about a romantic dinner at a spectacular restaurant. First, work up an appetite by doing a walking tour or biking tour of the city. Or, well, feed your appetite by making stops at local eateries, coffee shops and funky shops while touring the city. Chattanooga's Riverwalk is a paved trail that runs 13 miles along the Tennessee River. My favorite way to do it is by bike, but walking is very popular as well. You can take some detours on the way. Cross to the eclectic North Shore area by way of the walking bridge or visit the Bluff View Arts District and Hunter Museum. Then, stop back at your vacation home to freshen up for dinner. Where to eat? I know my favorite spots, but I also asked around to find out to see if my friends and family agreed. We agreed. Romantic spots to have your Valentine's Day dinner in Chattanooga?
St. John's Meeting Place. We recommend this spot a lot. We love it. The menu changes, so check their website for recent offerings.
Alleia. In their own words, "Hand crafted Italian cuising utilizing local ingrediants". Ask to sit in a booth.
Easy Bistro. Their menu also changes frequently, but think seafood, small plates, and craft cocktails.
Terra Nostra. A tapas and wine bar on the North Shore of Chattanooga.
Two Ten Jack. A Japanese ramen house with amazing small plates as well. In the lower level of Warehouse Row.
Canyon Grill. BYOB and located outside of the city on Lookout Mountain. Their specialty is wood grilled seafood, steaks, and vegetables. Best filet mignon I've ever had.
Looking for something a little different? Take a Valentine's Day Lunch or Dinner Cruise on the Southern Belle or have dinner on the train with the Tennessee Valley Railroad.
