  • Super Host
  • 20 miles from Rock City.
  • Historic log cabin on the Tennessee River built in 1835.
  • Get away from it all and still have high speed internet and a Smart TV
  • Deck and great room overlook the Tennessee River.
  • Part of the Tennessee River Gorge Trust and at the trailhead for the Pot Point Loop Trail.

Located on over 400 acres of protected natural lands on the banks of the Tennessee River, the Pot Point Cabin was originally built in 1835. The cabin was constructed from hand-hewn logs and planks reclaimed from flat boats wrecked on the “Boiling Pot” rapid on the Tennessee River.

In 1993, renovations were made to the original cabin that included a great room with floor to ceiling windows that provide a scenic view of the Tennessee river, an upstairs bathroom with shower, a downstairs wheelchair accessible bathroom, and a small but serviceable kitchen. There are two decks overlooking the river.

This cabin comfortably sleeps ten (10), with 1 king sized bed in one room on the lower level, one (1) queen sized bed and (2) twins in another room upstairs as well as one (1) queen sized bed and two (2) single beds across the hall, in another room on the same level. Downstairs there is a large table that seats six in the TV/game room (the TV gets no channels, it is a smart TV and there is a DVD player), as well as a beautiful large farmers table in the great room to seat the entire family. The downstairs TV/game room and upstairs sleeping areas are all in the original part of the cabin built in 1835.

Maximum occupancy at all times is 10 people.

This property is about 12 miles from downtown, but sometimes feels further because of the slow, narrow, winding river road. The view is fantastic however, and provides a wonderful way to slow down from hectic daily life!

Across the road up the driveway a bit and to the left, this cabin even has its own Self-Guided Nature Trail. It is a moderately strenuous, 3.5 mile loop trail featuring some steep climbs and reaching over 1,000 feet in altitude around Azalea Point. Along with the recreational experience, hikers will be able to enjoy the rich biodiversity that is found in the Tennessee River Gorge.

Water at Pot Point is well water and is considered non-potable (Not drinkable). We do however provide a 5 gallon cooler of potable (drinkable) water for our guests. We also recommend that you bring your own drinking water. This property is on a well and sometimes with over use of water the well pump may not keep up and may take several hours torefill the tank. Please use water sparingly.

Please note: Log cabins have the tendency to leak when it rains very hard.  Every effort is made to avoid this but we have thus far been unable to avoid it.

The Chattanooga, TN-GA Metropolitan Area, is an area consisting of six counties – three in southeast Tennessee (Hamilton, Marion, and Sequatchie) and three in northwest Georgia (Catoosa, Dade, and Walker) – anchored by the city of Chattanooga.

We do not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, handicap, familial status, or national origin. We love guests of all types as long as they pay for the use of the property and take good care of that property during their stay.

Note: Most of our properties are rural and wooded. Please do not expect a perfectly manicured lawn. We cut a little here and there when we see fit to do so.

All renters must be over 25 years of age.

This has to be the best customer service bunch Ive dealt with. Super nice, knew the area & would explain anything you needed. Even if you dont talk to the same person each time they all know whats going on and will get you an answer. They really did make us feel at easy with our rental.

This property is better than advertised. Beautiful, peaceful & the view is just awe inspiring. Whether you want to hike, read a book, relax outside or go into town, its perfect for R & R. I would say one thing Ive read some of the other reviews. The road is tight, winding and could give your heart a couple jumps but coming from West Virginia its what you would expect to get to a quiet, peaceful place at a hiking trail head never the less. My wife and I both thought it brought a since of fun and adventure traveling in. So, dont let any of that scare you. It is a good bit to the store so pack (food) accordingly. Sit back, drink a glass of wine or whatever and enjoy the history of this amazing cabin. Its worth every penny, which is my wifes name and we did!!!! P.S. there are some rocks right down from the Cabin to the left, might have to get your feet wet but sitting out there was so peaceful.

Spacious With A Cozy Feel My friends and I had a weekend getaway at Pot Point Cabin. There were 7 of us and we could not have been more comfortable! The house has a very unique layout that provides plenty of room but kept the group together so no one felt isolated. We had such a lovely, peaceful stay! They beds were comfy and the view was stunning. We had a wonderful time and would certainly recommend Pot Point Cabin!

Family Vacation My family was so excited upon arrival to spend our week in this cabin loaded with history!During our stay we experienced a power outage due to a tree falling. We were without power all night and it never got hot. The only downside is the road leading to the cabin.

My friends and I had a great experience near Chattanooga when we found Pot Point Cabin. There is a great view and access to water and a hiking trail just right outside the cabin. I highly recommend staying. The only downside is the drive out to the cabin is a little tedious. Overall, excellent spot for friends or family.
