Autumn Events In Chattanooga
by Chattanooga Vacation Rentals
We’ve said it before and we’ll say in again. October and November in Chattanooga are, simply put, amazing. The cooler weather, the changing leaves, and tons of festivals and events. If you’ve yet to make your plans to stay with us this October, let me help you make the choice to head our way. Here are some of the events taking place in Chattanooga this fall.
3 Sisters Bluegrass Festival
Tickets? You don’t need any tickets. This is a FREE event held at Ross’s Landing (on the riverfront by the Tennessee Aquarium). There’s an awesome line up, including The Infamous Stringdusters (pictured above), and plenty of food and beverage vendors. The music starts at 6pm on Friday and noon on Saturday. Find the line up and all the info here.
Wine Over Water
Wine Over Water is a group of events that take place both on the Walnut Street Bridge and Off The Bridge. The Walnut Street Bridge (pictured above during last year's event) is the world’s longest pedestrian bridge. It starts downtown just next to the Bluff View Art District and runs to the Northshore. The wine tasting events will include over 100 wineries and heavy hors d’oeuvres. The Off The Bridge events will take place at fantastic restaurants and breweries throughout the weekend. Think delicious tastings, wine, local brews and music. For a full view of Friday and Saturday nights wine tasting events on the bridge as well as the off the bridge events, check the events page.Ketner’s Mill County Arts Fair
Held 30 minutes northwest of Chattanooga in Whitwell, Tennessee, the fair is in its 41st year. There will be over 150 artisans and 20 food vendors. Metal art, jewelry, woodworking, furniture, folk art, sculptures and paintings are just a sampling of what will be represented. There will also be live entertainment, a petting zoo, canoe rides and wagon rides. Dogs on leashes are welcome.
Weekends in October
Rock City was founded by Freida Utermoehlen Carter and they celebrate their German heritage with German food and live music, specialty beers, polka lessons and kids activities.Sculptures In The Sky
The Sculpture Fields At Montague Park with its world class sculpture collection is beautiful all year, and on this day the sky is filled with magnificent flying sculptures. Kites. There will also be performances, local food trucks and adult beverages.
Scenic Train Rides and Riverboat Cruises
One of the most common questions we get is when will the leaves be at their peak. While rain fall and temperature dictate when the leaves change each year, check out this Fall Foliage Prediction Map for this year’s forecast.
This is just a sample of what Chattanooga has to offer during the fall season. There really are so many options. We will continue to post upcoming events and cool things to do, so follow us on Facebook and Instagram (ChattanoogaVacationRentals) to keep up to date.
