OUR TIMELINE

On March 23, we suspended incoming reservations for the month of April due to the COVID-19 virus.
On April 11, we decided to suspend incoming reservations through May 15.

We monitor information daily to determine best practices.

3.31.20
On March 23, we suspended incoming reservations for the month of April due to the COVID-19 virus.  While this was not a decision we made lightly, we chose to prioritize the health and safety of our housekeepers and guests as well as our owners.  Our goal as a company has always been to establish a high standard of excellence and to act as an example of that excellence in the short term vacation rental industry.  So in that same vein, we want to set a standard for others in the industry by highlighting the importance of social distancing as a country and encourage guests to not travel right now. We suspended incoming reservations until the end of April (and possibly) May. We will reevaluate reopening as time goes on.

This was not an easy decision to shut down and lay off 16 hardworking and dedicated employees, but for the best interest of everyone involved, we believe it is the right thing to do.  At Chattanooga Vacation Rentals, our employees don’t just work “for” us; we all work together as a team. For this reason, we have put measures in place to ensure that every employee continues to receive the total amount for the average income they earn from us each month. We have done this initially by filing unemployment for each team member.  Typically unemployment pays 60% of the average paycheck, so we have also started a non-profit organization to pay any gap between their average income and what unemployment will pay.

FLY FOUNDATION, INC SUPPORTING OUR TEAM

We initially started this idea a couple of years ago to help pay for any of our employees
who wanted to further their education and pursue other careers.
The first employee to benefit from this is currently working on her pilot's license,
as she wants to become an airline pilot. She just recently soloed! Thus, the name
Fly Foundation, Inc

Interview with Thor from Vacation Rental Housekeeping Pro on Vimeo.

We understand that times are challenging for many local businesses.  The short term vacation rental industry, along with so many folks in hospitality, have also been hit very hard.  However, we are doing our best to flatten the curve while protecting the health and financial security of our team members.

OUR DEDICATION TO A CLEAN HOME

Our professionally trained Vacation Rental Housekeeping Professionals (VRHP) team already uses many of the products recommended by The American Chemistry Council's (ACC) Center for Biocide Chemistries (CBC). Their list of products has been pre-approved by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for use against emerging enveloped viral pathogens.  These products have been used during the 2019 novel coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak and include, but are not limited to, many of the Clorox and Lysol brand products, SprayNine, and Odoban, all of which have varying dwell times and 99% disable or kill viruses and bacteria. The houses are very well cleaned, sanitized, disinfected, and are guest-ready when the housekeepers are done.

As an additional measure, we always return to the property prior to the next guest check-in and re-sanitize and disinfect all aspects of the property
as well as ensure all mechanicals, HVAC, water, electric and of course the must-have, internet and TV, are in working order.

We, Chattanooga Vacation Rentals, have implemented protocals that are designed to minimize the risk of
the spread of COVID-19 among our guests, our team, our community, and our owners.
However, we do not warrent against the spread of any virus or sickness.
There is a risk that you can contract COVID-19, or any illness, while staying in one of our homes.
